Hello, hacks and hackers! If you mourned the loss of the Data Journalism Awards, buck up: some news nerds got together to create the Sigma Data Journalism Awards to honor great data journalism from around the world. You have until the 3rd of February to apply, if you are so inclined.

And in case you missed the announcement last week, our joint project MisinfoCon is holding an upcoming gathering in Washington, D.C. MisinfoCon @ NASEM will focus on health and science misinformation, in partnership with the U.S. National Academies of Sciences.
